| Despite the weather 25+ pike anglers took to the banks of Debdale today to try and hunt down the freshwater predator. |
The snow covered the roads, and thin layer of ice collected over the certain parts of the lake. Thankfully, this didn't stop anglers getting out of bed and on to the banks to take part in the AnyTackles Debdale Pike fishing session.
First part of the morning was mild with occasional sun showing through the clouds, which made the day ever more pleasant. However, this quickly changed as the clouds thickened and the cold wind started to show. I for one could not even think about taking my rod, and reel out of the holdall as it was just too cold! So, I spent most of my time talking to fellow anglers and hearing some great stories about local pike fishing.
Sadly no pike where landed, or any takes recorded. It was a real shame but it's all part of fishing and Debdale is not an easy place to fish! Many have tried and failed, never to be seen again.
I am sure this will not be the last pike fishing session I organise on Debdale, as I am still determined to see big pike landed from here. I don't have the proof but I would not be surprised if a 30lb+ pike does live here!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for attending, and I hope it was an enjoyable experience.
Keep checking my website for updates on other events I will be organising throughout the year. |
